Home Cooking 4 Feb 2012 at 7:00pm Popular at tailgate and Super Bowl parties, beer brats are good year-round. It is hard to believe you only need four simple ingredients to make this quick and tasty dish. You can throw it together at the last minute. Do not restrict yourself to bratwurst. Use this method with hot dogs, Italian sausage, knockwurst, or just about any link sausage. • Super Bowl Beer Brats Recipe • More Super Bowl Recipes • Follow me on Twitter • Become a Home Cooking Facebook fan Beer Brats Recipe Photo © 2009 Peggy Trowbridge Filippone, licensed to About.com, Inc. Hidden inside each meatball is a tiny ball of mozzarella cheese, and they swim in a deliciously piquant vodka tomato sauce. Hang on to this recipe, because it can also be used to make a stuffed meatloaf, spaghetti with meatballs, or as a stand-alone marinara sauce for pasta. If you cannot find the baby mozzarella balls (usually sold in supermarket deli sections), just cut up a standard ball of mozzarella. If you are unable to use vodka in the sauce, simply omit it. The sauce is almost as good without it. Try these for your Super Bowl party, potluck, or any party. Keep them warm in a crockpot or buffet warmer. • Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs with Vodka Sauce Recipe • Meatloaf Recipes • Ground Beef Recipes • Appetizer Recipes • Follow me on Twitter • Become a Home Cooking Facebook fan Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs with Vodka Sauce Recipe Photo © 2012 Peggy Trowbridge Filippone, licensed to About.com, Inc. News reports predict prices of wings to rise because of the demand. They are still cheaper to make at home than to buy at a restaurant. However, you will need a deep-fryer or a deep skillet to fry them up. The sauce is ridiculously simple, using only 3 ingredients. Fry them up, toss in the sauce, and you are good to go! You can see how easy they are to make by watching the video. Use your own homemade marinara sauce or your favorite jarred commercial version. The spinach adds fiber and makes it appealing to the eye. To bump up the fiber even more, use a whole wheat lasagna noodle. If you are dieting, you will be thrilled to know that one portion is only 346 calories. So here are six kinds of chili, all of them low fat. Enjoy these chilis with some cornbread, and with a little spoonful of low-fat sour cream or nonfat Greek yogurt on top. As much as mid-westerners and East coasters scoff at West coast panic over a few inches of snow and ice, we really do grind to a halt out here. In our defense, we have hills. Steep hills. Even four-wheel drive cars or snow chains are rendered next to useless on our hills. So for the past week, we stayed home. But this was a an opportunity to cook and to bake. I ran out of bread pretty quickly, but no matter; I had bread flour and yeast! So I spent a lot of time kneading dough for bread and bagels, much to my family's delight. Eating low fat is one part of this equation, but it's not only what we eat that's important, but also how much we eat. It's all very well choosing low fat foods, but if we replace fat with sugar, or eat larger portions of lower fat foods, we're doing ourselves no favors. That's why portion control is key. The problem is that figuring out what constitutes a serving or a portion is confusing, particularly as these terms mean different things. Here are some articles and reviews on my site to help clear up the confusion.
